A very direct and predictable offensive blade made of beautiful walnut (OFF)
The WALNUT is a relatively hard, offensive solid-wood blade designed for players who like to control the ball themselves. Its focus is not on maximizing acceleration from the blade, but rather on precision and predictability. The WALNUT is the more controlled alternative to the WALNUT SPEED and offers a slightly more responsive feel.
Here's how WALNUT works
The 1.0 mm-thick walnut top veneer provides a relatively firm and very direct feel. You can clearly feel the ball contact, and the blade reacts very predictably to your strokes.
In terms of speed, it falls into the mid-offensive range. This provides enough speed for an active offensive game without losing control too quickly.
Right close to the table is where the WALNUT really shines. It has a very linear feel, and you can place the ball with great precision when blocking and hitting. Even in longer backspin rallies, you can control the length of the shot well because the ball doesn’t bounce unnecessarily high off the blade. The flight path remains fairly flat.
Despite its relatively hard attack, the WALNUT has high spin potential. This allows you to effectively combine speed and spin when playing aggressive topspins. Even from mid-distance, there’s enough speed to put pressure on your opponent.
WALNUT is here to help you with that:
The WALNUT responds very linearly: More effort on your part results in correspondingly more speed. Less effort leads to a more controlled shot. Especially during fast play at the table, this makes the wood’s response highly predictable and boosts your confidence in your own shots.
This will especially help you to,
- Placing blocks strategically,
- to accurately control the direction of counterattacks and shots,
- to control short and long balls more deliberately,
- and, when hitting a topspin, decide for yourself how much speed you want to generate.
WALNUT never interferes without being asked; it simply does exactly what you tell it to do.
Here's what you should look for before buying
The WALNUT is not a soft, catapult-like blade. If you want the blade to generate a lot of extra acceleration even with small movements, this blade isn’t a good fit for your playing style.
To reach high speeds, you have to actively accelerate yourself. That’s exactly what makes the WALNUT so controllable and precise—in other words, it requires a certain amount of physical effort, which isn’t an advantage for every player.

❓FAQ - Häufige Fragen
What is the biggest difference between the WALNUT and the WALNUT SPEED?
Both blades share a very linear, direct, and firm feel. However, the WALNUT has a thinner core and is therefore slightly slower than the WALNUT SPEED. This makes the WALNUT easier to control, but it has correspondingly slightly less power.
My current equipment feels too powerful to me, and on short shots, the ball keeps bouncing too far. Can the WALNUT help with that?
Yes, the WALNUT has very little inherent bounce and accelerates very linearly. This allows you to have greater control over your speed and shot length. This is a major advantage, especially if you don’t want the wood to “interfere” with your shot. It can therefore bring significantly more stability to your game.
Can I still hit high-rotation topspins with the WALNUT?
Yes. Despite its relatively firm and direct feel, the WALNUT offers good spin potential. However, you’ll need to generate more of the acceleration yourself than you would with the SPIN OFFENSIVE, for example. It doesn’t provide as much catapult effect, but that’s exactly the advantage if you don’t like blades with a lot of catapult effect.

Reviews by other players
