THE DEFENSIVE BLADE FOR DEFENSIVE PLAY
The DEFENSIVE CONTROL is a defensive blade for the classic defender .
It has a solid basic speed and plays relatively softly , so that the balls are guided safely and in a controlled manner . The large blade in the typical defensive shape ensures a particularly large sweet spot and therefore a very large hitting zone . This makes the blade very top-heavy , which makes playing balls with a lot of rotation extremely easy.
WHAT PROPERTIES MUST A GOOD DEFENSIVE RACKET HAVE?
The most important properties for a good defensive blade are:
- HIGH CONTROL VALUES
- LONG BALL CONTACT TIMES
- MODERATE PACE
- LARGE SWEETSPOT
A good defensive blade is easy to control without losing too much speed. That's why we opted for a combination of a KIRI core veneer with particularly thick outer veneers made of SPRUCE. The thick KIRI core provides the necessary speed , while the SPRUCE makes the blade particularly soft and sensitive . We only use self-produced and selected sawn veneers made of high mountain spruce - this blade is particularly tough and very elastic , which ensures long ball contact times . This means that the ball is guided particularly safely and played with a lot of spin . "The thick spruce outer layers make the blade extremely elastic , which results in a particularly long contact time with the ball. The longer the contact time, the more spin the return gets and the more safely you place the balls. The Kiri core veneer gives the blade the necessary basic speed. This means you can attack specifically despite a defensive style of play."
DEF - The blade size for defensive blades
In order to enlarge the sweet spot even further, we decided to construct a completely new blade size 'DEF' for defensive players. The blade size 'DEF' is 162 x 156 mm and is a bit larger than our blade size 'L'. This makes the blade very top-heavy , which makes playing extremely spin-rich balls extremely easy.
